HGTV

Tom and I have noticed that much of our free time on the weekends is spent fixing things around the house and making it more of our home. This weekend we decided to take all of the shutters down and paint them black. The side of our yard looked like something right out of an episode of Get It Sold on HGTV. We had all of the shutters lined up on old sheets and 6 cans of spray paint later, we had brand new shutters! They look really great and I am becoming a huge fan of spray paint.

I also put up some new Uppercase Living and figured I would share that as well.

New Railings

This past weekend Tom changed the railings on our front porch and it looks awesome!

Vacation

Tom and I went to the Outer Banks from July 4th - July 11th with 4 other couples and we had a great time. Well, other than that fact that I got burnt on the third day to the point that I was sick for the rest of our vacation. I even had SPF 55 on and was only on the beach from noon-2PM; went back to the house and ate lunch and put MORE sunscreen on and then went back to the beach from 2:30-4. Well somehow, I ended up more burnt than I have ever been and was in bed for the next 2 days. I was in pain and sick to my stomach until the vacation was over. When we got home, I still didn't feel right and went to the doctor. They told me that I had severe second degree burns and sent me to the ER right away because they thought my leg was infected and had to be drained (gulp). Anyway, it was a great vacation and we can't wait to go back (although I will be wearing a hooded sweatshirt and pants to the beach)!

updates.

Last weekend we went to Myrtle Beach for Greg's graduation. The weather was perfect and the ceremony was really nice. Our visit went by too quick and then it was back to work.

Here is a picture of Bailey and I from our trip:
I still have to put the ones of Greg's graduation ceremony on the computer.

Also I recently became a demonstrator for a company called Uppercase Living. I love the product so I figured I would try it out. Check out my website!

Long time.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry it has literally been MONTHS since I last wrote anything. The sad part is, there is not too much new to report. Tom and I have been spending our weekends working around the house and we cannot wait for it to get warm out so we can keep spending time outside. We have decided to eat healthier and work out often, so we are trying to take better care of ourselves.

In May we are headed down to Myrtle Beach, SC for my brother's college graduation and then we have a trip planned to the Outer Banks with good friends in July.

Speaking of Myrtle Beach, there is currently a huge fire in Myrtle Beach and my mom and sister are currently in the process of being evacuated. Please keep them in your prayers.

Nichelle and Marc's wedding!

This past Saturday we went to Nichelle and Marc's wedding. It was so beautiful and so appropriate, on Valentine's Day. I don't think I got a picture of me and the bride!

snow.

Well it has definitely been a LONG time since I have posted anything but the holidays were so busy and things are starting to relax a little now. Anyway, since I last wrote it has snowed a few times and when I uploaded pictures to the computer today, I saw that apparently Tom had a little photo shoot with the girls the last time it snowed.

As you can see, they love to run in it, eat it, and bring it back into the house!

Our first Anniversary.

Yesterday Tom and I celebrated one year of marriage together.

I found one dozen roses in my car.

And then pink roses (my favorite!) were delivered to my desk at work!

birthdays.

This Saturday we also had Chloe's first birthday party during the day and then at night we celebrated Nichelle's birthday.

I am most definitely the least photogenic out of all of my friends (I'm always making a weird face or something).

Notice the creepy guy in the background is Tom - haha. It was a fun night!

haircut.

This past weekend Merry got a haircut and she came home with this crazy bow in her hair so I just had to share.

She was so scared in the car on the way home from the groomer but then she got used to her new look!

pumpkins.

As I said before, I love pumpkins. I have been craving a pumpkin pie or some other delicious pumpkin treat ever since fall began. Well today I decided to stop for a pumpkin muffin from D&D and it was AMAZING. I just thought I would share. And now I love pumpkins even more.

details.

I just keep thinking back to this time last year and remembering all of the thought and planning that went into each detail at our wedding. Now, with each wedding that I go to, I pay special attention to each small detail because I know how much thought went into them. Some of the pictures below are a few of our MANY "details" =)

miss B.

Bailey. I waited 14 years of my life to have a sister and she couldn't have made the wait any more worthwhile. Bailey is my best friend and she never judges me. She always strives to make everyone around her happy and has the biggest smile I have ever seen. She makes friends with anyone and has the wildest imagination. She is an author, a football player, a teacher, a golfer, and even a pirate (for Halloween this year haha). But most of all, she is my sister. From the day Miss B was born, my life has changed and I am a better person for knowing her. I can only hope that I can teach her half as much as she's taught me.
